Top 10 FAQs About Our Pilates Instructor Training Program
Considering becoming a Pilates instructor in Thailand?
You likely have a number of important questions. We’ve compiled answers to the 10 most commonly asked questions we receive to help you determine whether our Pilates instructor training program aligns with your goals.
1.What qualifications do I need to enroll?
To be eligible for enrollment, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a basic level of physical fitness
- Ability to perform Pilates movements
- Have some prior experience practicing Pilates
- Be fluent in either Thai or English
2.Tell me more about the program structure. How does it work?
We offer both a comprehensive certification and a modular training pathway, allowing you to tailor your journey according to your personal and professional goals. You may choose to complete all modules consecutively (comprehensive) or enroll in select modules individually.
While you are welcome to pursue individual modules, we highly recommend completing certification across all apparatus, as Pilates is designed to function as a fully integrated system. All students should complete mat and reformer certification at a minimum to understand the basic foundation of Pilates.
We currently offer seven modules:
- Mat 1 and Principles of Movement
- Reformer 1
- Cadillac
- Chair
- Barrel and Spine Corrector
Advanced Modules
- Mat 2
- Reformer 2 and Reformer 3
3.Who is leading your Instructor Training program?
All of our modules are taught by the studio founder and lead instructor, Kea. Kea is a highly skilled, 3rd Generation Pilates instructor with nearly 20 years of experience teaching movement.
Kea completed the Balanced Body Comprehensive Instructor Training program at a well known studio in Arizona, USA. She was fortunate to train under Katrina Foe – a student of Lolita San Miguel who was certified by Joseph Pilates himself. Kea went on to complete an apprenticeship and was later employed by the same Arizona studio.
Following a move back to Thailand, Kea taught in a Bangkok studio, consistently working to improve her practice. In 2016, she founded KZ Pilates in Chiang Mai. She later established a second studio location in Bangkok in 2024.
4.How long does the training take?
The duration of training will vary based on whether you pursue our comprehensive program or select individual modules. Each module’s in-studio instruction is typically delivered over one to two weekends.
Outside of studio time, you will also be required to complete self-practice, observation, teaching hours, and mentorship hours. These can be completed at your own pace and must be fulfilled before attempting the final assessment for each module.
5.How much does it cost? Are there any additional fees?
Tuition depends on the number of modules you select, along with any applicable discounts. We offer:
- Early Bird Discounts
- Bundle Discounts for those enrolling in multiple modules
The cost of each module begins at around 28,000 THB. Significant savings are available for early registration and multi-module enrollment. The cost for each module is inclusive of time in the studio for you to complete self-practice, teaching and observation hours.
There are no additional fees to complete the end-of-module assessments. However, you may incur additional fees if you do not complete the self-practice, observation and mentorship hours within the time allowed for each module, as these require additional studio time.
6.How often are the courses offered? What is the schedule like?
We host instructor training 1 to 2 times per year, depending on client demand and our availability. As an independent studio, we are able to offer some flexibility in scheduling.
In-studio modules are typically held on weekends from 9:00am to 6:00pm, with designated time for lunch and short breaks. Weekday evening training may occasionally be offered, depending on demand and cohort size.
7.What kind of assessment or exam is required to get KZ AligN Pilates certified?
At the conclusion of each module, students are required to successfully pass both a written theory and a practical teaching assessment to achieve our certification.
